to present a solo exhibition of paintings by Beverley
Ashe.
An artist and curator from Santa Fe, New Mexico & New York City
- Ashe currently lives and works in San Miguel de Allende.

In the studio, I’m
always reaching for subtext; the truth is so rarely found on
the surface of things. I believe it is found by seeking out not
only that which pleases me, but also that which repels. To
survive ,
one can take unexpected detours from home and self – ending
up in destructive situations. From the experience of my own detours,
I carry secrets. These provide empathic ground for my work as an
artist. –

This show will feature a selection of paintings from
each of the following series:
Leche
Ashe’s new series delves
into the dark side of the collective pursuit of sex, love and happiness.
Combining found images of pornography, trafficking, migration, missing
persons, prostitutes, mail order brides and papel picado, the artist
paints a world where human yearnings and commercial agendas collide.
